8 Things you can do to speed up your computer and protect it

1. Run MRT. This Microsoft tool program is based on security. Go to Start Run and type in MRT and run the full scan.


2. Run Malware program. Run full scan. www.malwarebytes.org


3. Run Spybot Search and Destroy. This application scans for spyare, adware, hijackers and other malicious software. http://www.securitywonks.net/listing/view/1/Spybot-Search-Destroy


4. Run a full scan on MS Essentials virus program. This should be running at all times. www.microsoft.com/security_essentials


5. How to speed up your computer. This will speed up your computer. Go to START, RUN, Type in MSCONFIG and click OK Click on SERVICES tab and uncheck INDEXING SERVICE also uncheck HELP AND SUPPORT. Click APPLY and then OK. Reboot your computer!


6. Another way to speed up your Computer. Go to START, RUN, Type in MSCONFIG and OK. Click on STARTUP tab and uncheck unwanted programs that are running in your tray. Make sure you uncheck the ones you know. Then click APPLY and ok. Reboot your computer.


7. Defrag your Computer. Click START, ALL PROGRAMS, ACCESSORIES, SYSTEM TOOLS, DISK DEFRAGMENT. DEFRAG the C drive. Reboot.


8. Go to MY COMPUTER, then right click the C drive. Click on Properties. Click on the Tools Tab. Then “Check Now”. Then check both boxes then START. Then reboot. This takes a good hour or so. Then reboot again. You’re done!!!!!

FINAL NOTE: If you do 1,2,4,5,7,8 your doing great!!!! If you do number 6, make sure you don’t uncheck programs you don’t know what they are.
